Powerus unveiled Guardian 3 at AUSA on October 12, introducing a seeker for autonomous terminal guidance on its first-person-view counter-drone interceptor. Aviation Week reported an approximate $10,000 unit price from company president Brett Velicovich. Aviation Week.

A new terminal guidance feature
Aviation Week reported that the new Guardian variant adds a seeker for the final approach to a target drone. Terminal guidance could reduce reliance on continuous human steering at the most time-sensitive part of an engagement. Public specifications did not establish the seeker type, tested target set or engagement success rate.
The price claim in context
The roughly $10,000 figure is a company-reported unit price, not a verified delivered cost for a full counter-UAS installation. Sensors, launch equipment, command links, training and interceptor inventory add to the total cost of a defended site.
Do not conflate it with the oil contract
The company’s roughly $22.3 million Middle East oil-infrastructure contract was announced on August 20, before this news window. Its initial scope covered detection, tracking, classification and early warning; the release said interceptor integration was a possible later step. Aviation Week’s October interview described installation work, but did not establish Guardian 3 as part of that contract.
What to watch next
A seeker-equipped demonstration is an engineering milestone. Independent testing, export approvals and disclosed customer delivery will be needed to judge how Guardian 3 performs and where it can be used.
