Beam Global signed a definitive agreement to acquire Norwegian industrial inspection drone company ScoutDI for approximately $24 million, according to its October 7 announcement. The agreement follows an earlier letter of intent and is expected to close in November if conditions are met. Source: Beam Global.

What ScoutDI adds
ScoutDI sells caged drones and software for examining tanks and other confined spaces where human entry can be hazardous or costly. Beam says the systems are in use across maritime, energy and inspection markets. The buyer plans to use existing US and European manufacturing capacity after closing.
The commercial logic
For inspection customers, the aircraft is only part of the service. Repeatable imagery, analysis, reporting and safe access are what create usable maintenance records. Beam’s broader sales channels could expand that offering, but cross-selling is a plan rather than a completed result.
What remains contingent
The transaction still faces closing conditions. The announced price includes cash and stock, with possible future earn-outs linked to revenue. Investors and industrial buyers should separate the signed agreement from a completed acquisition and assess whether the combined company delivers inspection deployments at scale.
