Most beginner crashes start with throttle. Too much throttle launches the quad out of the line. Too little makes the pilot panic near the floor. Good throttle control is not one movement; it is a constant stream of tiny corrections that keep the drone predictable.

Five-Session Simulator Plan

Radio Setup Matters

A twitchy radio or bad calibration makes throttle drills harder than they need to be. Use a consistent RadioMaster FPV radio, calibrate the sticks, and keep simulator rates calm until your hands relax. If you are moving from simulator to real flying, choose small RTF and BNF FPV drones before jumping into heavy outdoor quads.

What to Measure

  • How long you can fly without touching the ground.
  • How often you overcorrect after a turn.
  • Whether your landings happen by choice or by battery panic.
  • Whether your stick movements are getting smaller each session.

Move to Real Flights Slowly

Your first real packs should feel boring on purpose. Fly low, land early, check motor temperature, and keep notes. Bring spare FPV propellers because throttle practice often includes harmless bumps. If the video feed feels unreliable, inspect the FPV camera and VTX setup before flying farther.
